On July 22 and 23, Tenku RyuGin is serving a two-day only tea pairing lunch for the very first time. Expect a wide range of curated teas from China, Darjeeling, Taiwan and Japan, brewed with various techniques from tea blending to hot and cold brewing. Teas to watch out for include the very rare 2017 spring pick of “raw” pu’er from a tea tree that is centuries old. Chef Seki and his team have also designed an eight-course kaiseki menu featuring the best seasonal ingredients, including Japanese rock oysters, ayu, sea eel, watermelon and more. Tenku RyuGin’s eight-course lunch menu with 11 tea pairings is priced at $2,680pp.
