A sultry speakeasy hidden at the basement level of The Landmark is also home to Hong Kong’s largest gin collection.

The Space
By the folks behind Foxglove and Mrs. Pound, this hidden gem with a quirky backstory about the fictional character Doctor Robben Fern may take a while to locate (the entrance is next to Louis Vuitton in the basement), but once you do, you’ll find yourself returning time and time again for its homely vibes, attentive lab coat-clad bar staff, record collection and its impressive collection of over 250 gins.
The Drinks
You can’t come to Dr. Fern’s with a drink (or five) of Gin & Tonic. Instead of using the traditional Spanish balloon glass, the G&Ts here are served in a tall, slim Collins glass to trap carbonation and retain aroma. What’s more, the glassware and gins are stored in the freezer to ensure a cold pour without copious amounts of ice to avoid thinning down the drink. Those with a sweet tooth or a preference for something lighter can opt for the Bloom Gin & Fentimans Tonic ($110) with strawberries and edible flowers, but the real winner here is the Blind Tiger Gin & Fever Tree Tonic ($175) – garnished with grated lime and rosemary, the refreshing, herbaceous concoction is sure to relieve even the most serious case of Monday blues.
Verdict
The charming interior and laid-back vibes of Dr. Fern’s render it the ideal spot for a post-work drink with friends and colleagues. A must for all gin lovers.
