Top 10 New Year’s Eve Parties in Hong Kong and Macau

Time flies when you’re having fun. 2017 is right at our door step, so it’s time to farewell 2016 and welcome the New Year with a party you’ll (or won’t) remember for the years to come. Bonus if you get a great view of the midnight fireworks. Happy New Year!

Duddell’s: Cirque! NYE Party

Where: 3/F Shanghai Tang Mansion, 1 Duddell Street, Central

Go big or go home. Duddell’s chic Salon will transform into a carnival this year, complete with jugglers, strongmen, acrobats and clowns. Revellers will love the DJ sets and performance by local band The Red Stripes. Canapes will be served after midnight, plus you’ll want to wash it all down with free flow Veuve Clicquot champagne. Foxglove: NYE Black and White Ball

Classy partygoers will not want to miss Foxglove’s NYE Black and White Ball. Bloodest Saxophone all the way from Tokyo will be churning out some old school jazz on the night to welcome the New Year in style. Come earlier for a three-course French bistro dinner set and free flow (dinner + free flow from $1,288pp; free flow only from $680 before December 24, $880 at the door) with Japanese highball selections, premium spirits, house wines and beer, as well as one free glass of champagne at countdown!

KEE Club: Copacabana-themed NYE

Where: KEE Club, 32 Wellington Street, Central

It’s the Rio deal this year at KEE Club. Don your best white or black attire for the Copacabana-themed party, and get ready to party all night with DJ Rork and Kenji spinning beats in the background. The night rolls out with a five-course Latin American dinner featuring oyster ceviche, king crab paired with sweet potato, tender codfish, smoked beef, churros and a glass of chicha. Tickets (here) are $2,500 per person (starts at $400 for those only joining the party) and includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne.

 

Mahalo Tiki Lounge: Soul Train

Our favourite tiki lounge will be partnering with FUFU to bring you the grooviest disco party in town this NYE. Platforms, flare jeans, mini dresses, jumpsuits… You get the drill. Watch the fireworks from Mahalo’s terrace as you dance like no one’s watching to an exciting line-up of DJs. Tickets are from $250 (grab them here) and include one drink. Special NYE cocktails are only $100 each, and bookings of six or more guests before 11pm will receive a complimentary bottle of Taittinger Champagne.

 

Namo: Great Gatsby NYE Ball

For one night only, party like Gatsby at Namo. Let loose in your best snazzy outfit with front-row views of the fireworks. Kick off the night with a scrumptious feast, tucking into sirloin served with Thai curry, seared salmon and mango sticky rice. Tickets cost $988 per person and includes pre-dinner canapes and cocktails, an open bar (yes, available all night) and – it gets better – there’s even breakfast at 2am to round up the celebration.

 

Seafood Room: Mythological Countdown Party

Seafood Room is no doubt a contender of restaurants with the best view in Hong Kong, so naturally, this venue with an awe-inspiring interior and nifty terrace is also a prime location for watching the fireworks. Zuma: The Great New Year Party

Dig out your most glamourous garb for this Gatsby-inspired celebration to ring in 2017. The four-piece jazz band Gadjo Station will fill the glittering venue with 1920’s jazz tunes from 8:30pm till midnight, then guests can head to the lounge upstairs and join DJ Kid Gweilo along with dancers, drummer Barnaby Bruce and saxophonist Jose Castillo for more live performances all night long. A 15-litre Nebuchadnezzar of Veuve Clicquot will be popped at midnight, but expect an abundance of free flow champagne, cocktails, spirits, wines and beers to keep the spirits high.
