Sometimes a fresh juice is all you need after you step off a plane. Conveniently located inside Hong Kong International Airport is Big Chill. This café is a great place for passengers to hydrate before boarding or re-energise after a long flight. Freshly squeezed juices range from $44 to $48 and mixed smoothies from $49 to $53.
Bingo Juice Bar

Bingo Juice Bar is tucked away in a corner inside Far East Finance Centre in Admiralty. All their juices start at $16 and do not contain any added flavours or sugar. The bestseller, however, is their milkshake, which come in various fruit and vegetable combinations. Add yakult to make it extra tart.
Joe & The Juice

Originally from Denmark, this popular Danish chain of juice and coffee bars also has a branch in Hong Kong. With 24 juices available, you can select from freshly made juices and shakes. Try Hell of a Nerve ($44 for small; $54 for large), a blend of strawberry, elderflower and banana. Fibre Active ($46 for small; $56 for large) combines avocado, apple and lemon. For something refreshing, Hangover Heaven ($44 for small; $54 for large) is green concoction of apple, elderflower and mint.

Located inside Citygate’s food court Food Republic, Juzzbar offers juices that cost around $30, on average, but prices will vary depending on the different types of fruits and vegetables. Single or combination fruit juices are available. For something different, try a blend of green apple, Chinese bitter melon, celery, green pepper, and cucumber.
Sheung Fai Fruit Shop

Sheung Fai Fruit Shop has been operating on Des Voeux Road in Central for three years, selling both fruits and juices. There are over 20 different types of fruit juice to choose from, but our favourites are grapefruit juice ($16 for small; $22 for large), star fruit juice ($16 for small; $24 for large), and cucumber juice ($14 for small; $20 for large). Their special drinks include a blend of two fruits such as pear and lemon ($25), strawberry and papaya ($25), and kiwi and dragon fruit ($25). For something seasonal, the lychee blended with dragon fruit ($25) is a popular choice. Can’t decide? You won’t go wrong with the house combinations. Healthy Five Green is a cleansing blend of celery, green pepper, bitter melon, green apple and cucumber ($16 for small; $22 for large). Beauty Three combines papaya, carrot and apple ($14 for small; $20 for large). We can’t guarantee instant beautification, but the juice itself is delicious.

A juice is a simple pleasure, but making it requires some skill. This juice shop doesn’t add any sugar or too much water, so you won’t find the drinks overly sweet or diluted. The price for a single-flavoured fruit juice starts at $13, whereas two or more fruits will start at $16. The joint also incorporates Chinese vegetables such as bitter gourd pears into their drinks to give a refreshing aftertaste. They also have interesting mixes like sweet potato and apple or green pepper, celery and apple.

Spring Garden Juices’ specialty combination juices are all priced at $30. Try Morning Bracer, which consists of carrot, beet, orange, tomato, ginger and apple. Sunrise Surprise is a blend of spinach, mint, strawberry and pineapple. If you’re an avid beet lover, you’ll love Beat It, a mixture of beet, ginger, cucumber and pineapple.

What we love about Thyme is its generous portions and the options of adding milk and/or yakult to our drinks. A single-flavoured fruit juice costs $17. They also have interesting detox combinations like Kiwi Detox, a concoction of kiwi, green apple, celery, lime and spinach. For a zesty juice, try Gumbo, a mixture of celery, green apple, ginger, cucumber, gumbo and lime. For the detox juices, you have an option of 12 ounces of freshly pressed juice ($35) or 16 ounces ($40). The price also varies depending on the fruit and vegetables you choose.
Newly opened in Hung Hom, Tim Tim Fresh Fruit Juice stocks up on tropical fruit ideal for the summer. Combinations include mint, papaya and pineapple, or lime, honeydew and kiwi, or blueberry, mango and banana. $18 for one fruit, and $22 for three.

Zumufi is smoothie said with an accent, if you haven’t caught on. Using fruits imported from Australia, the juice joint has two juices series: Zumufi and Zumufi+. Their basic fruit smoothies ($42 for small; $48 for large) are all fruit-based and contain no milk or ice cream. Zumufi+ ($52 for small; $58 for large) incorporates superfood ingredients such as acai berry, chia seed and camu camu. Energy+ is a refreshing drink blending pineapple, strawberry, banana and goji berry. For all the pineapple lovers out there, don’t miss out on “Shine”, a tropical smoothie with pineapple, peach, banana, almond milk, coconut water, pineapple juice, oats and coconut palm nectar.
